This is an open call for MARUF on the Go, a series of multi-stakeholder events organized in different formats and on topics that will shed light on what’s to come in MARUF in advance:

What is MARUF on the Go?

MARUF on the Go is designed as a precursor to MARUF, unfolding across different times and places. It aims to shed light on the current challenges of urban life, bring together diverse stakeholders, and foster collaboration and co-creation.

Hosting a variety of events — including panels, workshops, field trips, and experiential meetings — MARUF on the Go lays the groundwork for the key themes that will be explored at MARUF and helps generate preliminary insights.

More than a one-time event, MARUF on the Go is a continuous process that opens up space for collaboration, collective thinking, and transformation on the road to MARUF. Shaped by the active involvement of local governments, NGOs, academia, the private sector, and international organizations, these events serve as a dynamic preparatory platform that nurtures the streams of MARUF.

How is MARUF on the Go Evaluated?

The format, duration and target audience of the event are determined by the applying institution. Applications are then evaluated by the MARUF Creative Team according to the criteria of content quality, compatibility with the conceptual framework and streams of MARUF25 , participant diversity, sustainability principles and applicability. Compatibility with MARUF Code of Conduct is taken into consideration in all application and evaluation processes.
