Cities Under Fire: Solidarity Through Cinema
Urban Cinema

Etkinlik Açıklaması
This panel looks at how film production and screenings can build solidarity with cities under fire. It explores the link between making films in conflict zones and sharing them with audiences elsewhere. The conversation will draw on the experiences of Palestine Cinema Days and Filmlab Palestine, which since 2014 have built the most extensive platform for Palestinian cinema, amplifying the voices of cities under attack. In the wake of the ongoing war and genocide in Gaza, the panel will also examine how Palestine Cinema Days has spread to nearly one hundred cities around the world since 2023, creating new ways of solidarity through cinema. The discussion will continue with the perspective of Docs Ireland, one of the festival’s international hosts, to reflect on how European documentary festival networks respond to current political developments.
