Event Description

Heat waves are among the deadliest disasters worldwide. The deepening climate crisis and profit-driven urbanization are further intensifying this challenge in cities. On the other hand, grassroots initiatives that contribute to climate adaptation policies are emerging across the globe. This workshop will explore citizen science as a practical and inclusive method to tackle urban heat. Participants will engage with the data and experiences generated during the “Reading the City’s Heat: Thermal Walk,” organized on 11 September within MARUF on the Go, and will have the opportunity to directly observe and discuss the potential of citizen science methods in addressing extreme heat.

Registration is required. You can click here to register for the workshop or use the mobile app.
