Etkinlik Açıklaması

The Istanbul Textile Traders' Market is one of the earliest examples of the encounter of architecture and art in Türkiye. Built between 1958 and 1967 by architects Doğan Tekeli and Sami Sisa, the complex features ceramic and mosaic panels by famed artists such as Füreya Koral, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Eren Eyüboğlu, Sadi Diren, Nedim Günsür, and Ali Teoman Germaner. This route combining architecture and art, organized in collaboration with the City Panels and supported by Kale Design Art Center, will examine nine artworks by eight different artists. Works of art in public space that define the identity of a period will be examined in situ and discussed within the context of the period's art history.
