Urban Basics: Right to Energy

This session aims to conceptually address the inequalities in access to energy in cities, based on the approach that fair, sufficient, and continuous access to energy is a fundamental urban right, and to explore their social, economic, and health impacts. The session will present the definition of energy poverty, measurement methods, and key indicators; and will discuss the responsibilities of local governments in planning, regulation, and guidance from the perspective of the right to energy.
