Event Description

The main purpose of the “Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on Metropolitan Planning and Finance for Adequate Housing” is to promote a strategic dialogue aiming to develop a comprehensive analysis of public policies at metropolitan scale that can drive and optimise universal access to adequate housing. At this session, UN-Habitat will kick-off the dialogues within the EGM, where participants will reflect on how to articulate housing policies through metropolitan management strategies that consider the seven key aspects of adequate housing: security of tenure, basic services, affordability, habitability, accessibility, location, and cultural adequacy. Through the exchange of perspectives, the aim is to identify innovative strategies that promote the development of metropolitan housing policies, prioritising an approach that ensures equity, sustainability, and the well-being of urban communities.
