Swimmable Cities

This participatory urban atelier, will explore how Istanbul’s urban waters can be revitalized as public commons using design thinking and spatial mapping. The atelier will investigate Istanbul’s layered bathing culture alongside the public’s increasingly limited access to the coast. Participants will generate ideas on how public bathing structures can foster coexistence, solidarity, and the framing of water as a public right.
