Anacláudia Rossbach
Executive Director, UN-Habitat
Anacláudia Rossbach is UN-Habitat's Executive Director and an economist with over 20 years of experience in housing, informal settlements, and urban policy.
Following a nomination by the UN Secretary-General in 2024, she was appointed UN-Habitat Executive Director by the General Assembly at the rank of Under-Secretary-General. Before this role, she served as Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Lincoln Institute for Land Policy and as Regional Director at Cities Alliance, where she founded the Center for Urban Housing Practitioners. Previously, she oversaw the development and implementation of Brazil's housing and slum upgrading policies with the World Bank. Rossbach has actively contributed to global urban policy debates and has a strong academic presence in the field.
