Aydın Çam

Aydın Çam is a faculty member at the Faculty of Communication, Çukurova University.
He received his master’s degree from the Department of Communication Sciences at Marmara University and his doctorate from the Media and Communication Studies Program at Galatasaray University. His research focuses on the history of cinema, the cinema economy, cinemagoing experiences, and cultural heritage in the Çukurova region, with particular emphasis on Adana. He has conducted studies on itinerant cinema practices in the Taurus highland villages, locally produced films, and the mapping of Adana’s cinema history.
Between 2021 and 2022, he coordinated the project "Dialogue for Cinema as Cultural Heritage: Identification, recognition and community-based inventory of cinemas as the intangible cultural heritage in Adana via cross-border dialogue", supported under the “Grant Scheme for Common Cultural Heritage: Preservation and dialogue between Turkey and the EU-II (CCH-II)” implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with financial assistance from the European Union. In 2023–2024, he led the TÜBİTAK-funded project "Assessing the Current Status of Adana’s Cinema Heritage Inventory Following the 6 February 2023 Earthquakes and Developing Policy Recommendations for Its Preservation".
