Baran Güneş

Baran Güneş graduated from the Faculty of Law at Atılım University in 2014 and completed his master’s degree in International Relations at Galatasaray University.

Since 2024, he has been serving as Deputy Mayor of Mudanya Municipality while also continuing his work as a member of both the Mudanya Municipal Council and the Bursa Metropolitan Municipal Council. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the Directorate of Enterprises and Affiliates, Directorate of Support Services, Directorate of Information Technologies, Directorate of Social Assistance Services, Directorate of Nursery Services, and Directorate of Legal Affairs. In addition, he serves as a member of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CLRA) of the Council of Europe.

Güneş actively works to enhance Mudanya’s international visibility, promote its cultural and historical heritage — including the ancient city of Myrleia — and support the recognition of local products such as Mudanya olive oil and Mudanya kurusu. Furthermore, he represents the municipality on international platforms, focusing on sustainable development, youth participation, and the promotion of democratic values.
