Büşra Yılmaz
Urban Policy Expert & Sociologist, Marmara Municipalities Union
Büşra Yılmaz graduated from Bahçeşehir University, Department of Sociology (English), and studied Arabic in Kuwait to support her academic research. She then completed her master’s degree at the Institute of Middle Eastern and Islamic Countries Studies, Marmara University, where her thesis examined the experiences of entrepreneurial refugees in the labor market, analyzing their economic, social, and cultural dimensions.
Yılmaz currently works as an Urban Policy Specialist at the Marmara Municipalities Union, where she leads the Social Services Platform. She is also responsible for coordinating the Golden Ant Awards and the Graduate Thesis Support Program. Her professional work takes an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on migration, social policy, social inequalities, social assistance, local governments, and social cohesion.
