Çağatay Edemen
Asst. Prof.,Communication and Information Theory, Özyeğin University
Çağatay Edemen received his bachelor’s degree from Marmara University and his PhD in Electronics Engineering from Işık University.
He has been serving as a faculty member at Özyeğin University since 2013. Between 2014 and 2016, he worked as a coordinator and researcher in the EU COST Action OPTICWISE project, which established a Europe-wide interdisciplinary research platform in the field of optical wireless communications (OWC). His research focuses on information theory, communication theory, and networks in wireless systems. More recently, his interests have expanded to optical communications, particularly applications of Visible Light Communication (VLC). He holds both national and international patents in this field. In addition to his theoretical work, he has led applied projects in collaboration with two pioneering mobile operators in Türkiye (Turkcell and Avea), focusing on WiMAX/WiMAGIC and LTE-Advanced technologies, with the goal of contributing to the IEEE 802.16m and 3GPP LTE standards.
