Çiğdem Üstün

Çiğdem Üstün is a Professor of European Studies and a faculty member at Nişantaşı University’s Department of International Relations in Istanbul.
She holds a BA in Political Science from Bilkent University, an MA in European Studies from the University of East Anglia, and a PhD from the University of Limerick, where her dissertation on EU and Turkish security cultures was published by I.B. Tauris in 2010. Her research focuses on European integration, enlargement, EU-Türkiye relations, Turkish foreign policy, and EU Neighborhood Policies. She has been a visiting researcher at the Universities of Limerick, Catania, and Cambridge, and has published widely in academic journals, edited volumes, and policy platforms. She has also contributed to projects funded by the EU’s FP7, H2020, IPA, and Civil Society Dialogue programs.
