Elif Ergin
Expert, Istanbul Development Agency
Elif Ergin completed a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Istanbul Technical University. She pursued her interest in regional planning by moving to the UK, where she graduated from the applied Regional Development and Spatial Planning master’s program at Newcastle University.
Following the presentation of her thesis examining rural development in Çanakkale through the lens of women’s labor and participation in decision-making processes, she served as an Urban Planner in the Design and Innovation Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Parks, Gardens, and Green Spaces Directorate. Subsequently, with a focus on specializing in local development, she joined the Istanbul Development Agency.
Today, within the agency’s Creative Industries and Culture Unit, she designs projects and programs that integrate local development with the transformative power of technology and creativity, contributing to sustainable and innovative development strategies.
