Emir Osmanoğlu

Emir Osmanoğlu is a researcher and urbanist. He graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. Since his student years, he has taken part in numerous social, political, and economic research projects within the field of public opinion research.
He is one of the founding editors of İdealKent Journal. He serves as the Director of the Urban Studies Institute and also as the Editor of İdealKent Publications. Since 2010, he has been involved in various studies on cities, including the preparatory processes of the Urban Studies Congress. Some of his co-authored research works include Otherness as a Social Identity, Perceptions of Poverty in Turkey, and Educational Needs of Families in Turkey. Among the edited volumes he co-prepared are Principles in Municipal Services and City and Security (with O. İmga).
His recent areas of interest and research focus include urban stratification, urban justice and spatial transformation, elderly well-being in urban contexts, local governments, and participation.
