Ergül Halisçelik

Ergül Halisçelik graduated with honors from the Economics Department of Çukurova University in 1996, began his master's degree the same year, and became a research assistant.
He started working as a Trainee Treasury Controller in 1997, became a Treasury Controller in 2001, and a Chief Treasury Controller in 2008. In 2002, he received training in accounting and auditing in Scotland, and later participated in various training programs on topics such as internal auditing, risk management, project auditing, and EU regulations. Between 2005 and 2007, he completed a master's degree in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2008, he completed his second master's degree at Çukurova University. In 2022, he became an associate professor in macroeconomics. In the academic field, he has taught at Çukurova, Hacettepe, Başkent, and TED universities; served as vice president at the Center for Economic and Social Research at Mülkiye, and as a senior researcher at the TOBB ETÜ Center for Social Policies. He began serving as Deputy Secretary General of Adana Metropolitan Municipality in 2019 and became Secretary General in 2020. He has been serving as Secretary General of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality since 2024. He is fluent in English.
