Gökçen Yılmaz Tokgöz

Gökçen Yılmaz Tokgöz completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Political Science and the International Relations Department at Boğaziçi University. Her MA thesis and research focused on Türkiye’s international protection law and asylum procedures. Since 2019, she is working in UNICEF Türkiye: started as an Emergency Officer in Gaziantep Field Office in 2019 and moved to Ankara in 2022 to the position of Programme Specialist – Emergency Coordinator of UNICEF Türkiye.

She is responsible for the overall coordination of humanitarian action, preparedness and disaster risk reduction, and localization, including coordination of municipality programmes. Before joining UNICEF, she worked in UNHCR, ASAM and as a research assistant at Boğaziçi University.
