Görsev Argın Uz
Dr., Director of Training and Projects, Marmara Municipalities Union
Görsev Argın Uz is an urban planner and designer. She is the Director of Training & Projects at the Marmara Municipalities Union and also leads the Local Government Academy. She coordinates practice-oriented learning initiatives such as Reclaiming Streets and serves as one of the program coordinators of the Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF). She holds a bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning and a master’s degree in Urban Design from Middle East Technical University. She earned her Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from Istanbul Technical University with her dissertation “Post-Flânerie: Altering Rhythm, Visual Attention, and Experience During Walking in Hybrid Public Space,” which investigated the influence of smartphones on walking experiences and was further advanced during her research stay at KU Leuven. Her work and research focus on urban design, tactical urbanism, hybrid public spaces, walking, and active mobility.
