İrem Kurtuluş Korkmaz
Senior Urban Policy Expert, Marmara Municipalities Union
İrem Kurtuluş Korkmaz completed her undergraduate degree in architecture and earned her MSc in Spatial Design: Architecture and Cities from The Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London.
She began her doctoral studies at Istanbul Technical University in the Urban and Regional Planning program, focusing on cultural sustainability in smart cities. After taking part in various architectural and urban-scale research projects in London and Istanbul, she joined the Marmara Municipalities Union (MMU), where she currently works as a Senior Urban Policy Specialist and Architect. In this role, she organizes events on urbanization and governance and serves as an associate editor for periodical journals and books published by MMU.
Her research and professional interests include urban morphology, user behavior and perception, urban resilience, and alternative construction methods and materials.
