Jasmina Ninkov
Acting Director, National library of Serbia
Jasmina Ninkov is the Acting director of National library of Serbia in Belgrade.
Before that Ninkov had been successfully running, from 2009 to 2025, the Belgrade City Library, the biggest public library system in Serbia. She is one of the leading Serbian experts in the field of librarianship, an active member of national and foreign professional organizations, working groups, and committees. She was participating and presenting at numerous IFLA Congresses and has an active role as a member of the Standing Committee of the Metropolitan Section of IFLA. As a director of Belgrade City Library,she demonstrated the capacity to achieve all the goals and to move into an international leadership role working in several European projects related to the use of IT in libraries, lifelong learning, etc.
She has a depth of understanding of issues that have a current or expected impact on the library and information services sector on a global level. She demonstrated relevant knowledge and experience to work on key strategic projects, a proven ability for creative thinking and innovative ideas, and has written and oral communication skills. Ms. Ninkov earned her MA degree at the Faculty of Political Science (Department of Journalism) and a title of Library advisor and has considerable experience (over 20 years) in managing domestic and international projects, including EU large-scale projects. She has published books: 21st Century Libraries (2010) and New Library (2023), and numerous articles. His teaching experience includes: trainer for media and information literacy.
