Kadir Doğacan Doğan
Civil Engineer, National Timber Associaton & Young Timber Engineers and Architects Group
After completing his civil engineering studies at Istanbul Technical University, Kadir Doğacan Doğan continued his career at HSCT Construction Inc., focusing on timber structures and sustainable building technologies. He conducts research and practical work on the more effective use of innovative engineered wood products in Türkiye, particularly “Mass Timber” systems such as CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) and Glulam (Glued Laminated Timber).
As a member of the Turkish Timber Association (UAB), he strives to contribute to the sector’s development, while also supporting knowledge-sharing and awareness-raising initiatives with his peers under the Young Timber Engineers and Architects Group (GAMM). By closely following both academic and practical advancements, he aims to help establish timber as a more reliable and widely adopted construction material in Türkiye.
His primary areas of interest include sustainability, reducing carbon footprints, and developing building systems in harmony with nature. Drawing inspiration from successful projects in Europe and North America, he provides assessments on the history, current situation, potential, and challenges of timber construction in Türkiye. Additionally, by collaborating with municipalities, urban planners, architects, and engineers, he seeks to contribute to greater public awareness of the future role of timber in the built environment.
