M. Mesut Kaya graduated from Marmara University's Faculty of Communication with a thesis titled "Architectural Publishing and Architectural Magazines in Turkey."
Between 1998 and 2006, he served as Publications Secretary and Deputy Editor-in-Chief in preparing the publication of 100 issues of YAPI, Türkiye's longest-running monthly magazine on architecture, design, culture, and art. In 2007, he left YEM and published PORTAKAL, a monthly tourism, culture, and art magazine. Publishing 24 issues consecutively, the magazine primarily aimed to introduce Antalya's historical, cultural, and social characteristics to the people of Antalya. In 2009, upon receiving an invitation, he became the "YEM Publishing Book Publishing Manager" and, until 2014, he worked on nearly 100 books on architecture, interior architecture, engineering, design, culture, and art within YEM Publishing. Between 2014 and 2017, following the merger of YEM Publishing and YEM Bookstore, Turkey's only specialized bookstore, he assumed the role of "Manager of YEM Publishing and Bookstore." In addition to managing the publishing program and production of YEM Publishing's books, he also played a role in all aspects of sales, distribution, and event organization for YEM Bookstore, which offers readers books from leading publishing houses in Turkey and around the world.
He continues his work as Manager of YEM Publishing and YEM Bookstore, developing its publishing and communication activities without compromising the founding purpose and working principles of YEM, founded in 1968.
