M. Zainora Binti Asmawi

M. Zainora Asmawi obtained her bachelor's degree in the field of urban and regional planning from the Technology University of Malaysia (1993). She has a Master of Environment from Putra University of Malaysia (2000), and she pursued her PhD in coastal planning and management from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom (2006).
She has produced several publications in indexed databases including Scopus and WOS, apart from journals such as Planning Malaysia, Advanced Science Letters and Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She has produced several books internationally and locally, in which the topics cover the built environment and environmental studies.
Asmawi is a corporate town planner, registered with the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) (455/2002), Board of Town Planners Malaysia (0357) and an ordinary member of Malaysian Social Impact Assessment (MSIA). Her research work has won awards in research and publication. Her involvement in the research works parallels her contribution to the professional practice, urban planning, and environmental-related works.
During her tenure with the university, she has held many administrative and academic leadership posts, including Deputy Dean (Post Graduate and Research), Head of Department, Head of Research, Academic Advisor and Fellow. She has many research works funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Institut Penilaian Negara (INSPEN) and the private sector as well. She is also actively involved with the society through professional consultancy activities, both in Malaysia and internationally.
