Mehmet Akif Asmaz

Mehmet Akif Asmaz is the Chairman of the Board of ASMAZ Wooden Frame Structures and a Board Member of the National Wood Association.

He graduated from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied Design and Sculpture. After completing his education, he worked as an assistant at the academy for three years, then gained professional experience at various companies in Italy before returning to Turkey in 1998.

Upon his return, he began working at the family company, ASMAZ Construction, and in 2006, he restructured the company to focus on wooden structures, founding ASMAZ Wooden Frame Structures. The company quickly gained recognition for its successful projects, becoming a leading force in the sector and winning numerous national and international awards. Asmaz has made it his mission to ensure that wooden structures in Turkey are built using certified structural wood products, designed and implemented by a technical team of architects and engineers, following scientific principles and meeting global standards. For this reason, he places great importance on collaboration with industry stakeholders and universities. In recent years, he has been invited to give presentations at many universities, including ITU, METU, KTÜ, and Istanbul University, where he shares technical details, global innovations, and case studies on wooden structures. He considers these awareness-raising efforts an integral part of his social responsibility.

Asmaz established ASMAZ Wood Inc., a company dedicated to the sales of structural wood products, in 2015. Through this company, he oversees large-scale imports and exports, supplying wood materials both domestically and internationally. He has served as a Board Member of the National Wood Association since 2015. He is fluent in English and Italian.
