Merin Sever studied Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Istanbul University, and subsequently continued her research at Galatasaray University and the L'Institut D'Asie Orientale in Lyon.
While pursuing her doctoral studies and specializing in modernism, theories of nationalism, the nation-state, and identity construction, her scholarly trajectory intersected with gastronomy and the history of everyday life.
Committed to an interdisciplinary approach, Sever produces books, articles, and documentaries in the fields of politics, political history, gastronomy, everyday life history, and literary criticism, within the context of critical theory and feminist methodology. She also serves as the executive editor of Mundi Books, an imprint of Can Publishing.
