Mert Civanoğlu

Mert Civanoğlu graduated from Sakarya University's Department of Social Work and brought his field experience to the academic arena with his thesis, "Social Acceptance of Syrian Refugees: The Sakarya Example." Civanoğlu, who holds a Family Counseling Certificate from Yıldız Technical University and has approximately five years of field experience, began his career as a social worker at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and continues to work in the same department today. He plays an active role in processes such as preparing social assessment and evaluation reports for individuals in need, conducting psychosocial support meetings, and distributing social aid. He works with families, children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. He also coordinates individual and group work for disadvantaged groups as a unit manager in the Neighborhood Community Center Project.
