Miray Özkan

Miray Özkan is an urban planner with nearly 20 years of experience, specializing in urban transformation, participatory processes, and ecological awareness.
She has worked at various scales, ranging from environmental master plans and urban transformation projects to spatial strategy plans and neighborhood-level initiatives. Currently, she channels this experience into the consultancy firm she co-founded, where she develops projects in collaboration with local governments, civil society, and international organizations. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Middle East Technical University and earned her PhD at Istanbul Technical University, integrating her academic expertise with practical fieldwork while continuing to share her knowledge as a part-time lecturer.
Her work emphasizes social justice, ecology, and participation. Özkan plays a facilitative role in bringing diverse stakeholders together, fostering collective intelligence, strengthening dialogue, and creating inclusive mechanisms where everyone can take part in shaping the future of cities.
