Muhammed Ziya Paköz

Muhammed Ziya Paköz is an urban planner and academic with nearly two decades of professional experience. He has served as a manager, coordinator, researcher, and consultant in numerous research and development projects across both the public and private sectors. He holds a PhD from Istanbul Technical University, where his dissertation focused on access to healthcare services and the spatial accessibility of hospitals. His current research interests include spatial accessibility, mobility, urban vitality, and post-pandemic urbanization. In addition, he has taught and published extensively on transportation planning, migration, and acculturation.
Paköz currently serves as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University and as a faculty member in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. He is also a Board Member of the Architects and Engineers Group (MMG), one of Türkiye’s leading non-governmental organizations.
