Mutlu Binark

Mutlu Binark is Professor at the Department of Radio‐Television and Cinema, and chair of the Division of Informatics and Information Technologies at the Faculty of Communication, Hacettepe University. She has been the editor of Moment Journal since July 2017. She is also a founding member of Alternative Informatics Association. She teaches media theories, media sociology, media literacy, and new media culture. She is currently working on aging, data ethics, creative content industries, and cultural policies both in Turkey and Asia. Recent publications include a chapter in Authoritarian and Populist Influences in the New Media (with G. Bayraktutan, Routledge, 2018), a book, Cultural Diplomacy and Korean Wave “Hallyu”: K-movies, K-dramas and K-pop (Siyasal Kitabevi, 2019), and an edited book and chapters in Popular Culture and Media in Asia (UMAG, 2020).
