Nihal Eminoğlu

Nihal Eminoğlu completed her PhD in political science at the University of Strasbourg in France with a scholarship from the Republic of Türkiye. She is currently working at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Science, in the Department of Politics and Economics. Eminoğlu was appointed as a member of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) under the Council of Europe as of January 2023. She also serves as an expert in the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, and the Intercultural Cities Programme.
Eminoğlu has led numerous international projects on the social integration of Syrians in Turkey and has collaborated with international organizations and INGOs (such as UNHCR, UNWFP, ICMPD, GIZ) At the national level, she closely works with the Directorate General of Migration Management on migration-related issues and with the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
Her areas of expertise include international migration, integration theories, integration of migrants/refugees, minority rights, human rights law, social cohesion in Turkey, and the Turkish diaspora in Europe.
