Oktay Yılmaz

Oktay Yılmaz graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kırıkkale University. After completing his university education, he entered the workforce as a mechanical engineer and has created added value for Bursa with his own company for many years.

He began his active political career in 2006 as a member of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). After serving three terms as Deputy District Chairman of the Osmangazi District Organization, he served as a member of both the Osmangazi and Metropolitan Municipality Councils. In 2017, he served as the AK Party Yıldırım District Chairman and was elected Mayor of Yıldırım from the AK Party in the local elections held on March 31, 2019. Having reaffirmed his credibility in the local elections held on March 31, 2024, he continues to serve as Mayor of Yıldırım.

He also serves as President of the Bursa Union of Municipalities, President of the Culture, Tourism and Promotion Association, and First Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality.
