Özkan Küçük

Özkan Küçük, graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering in 1997 and went on to complete his M.A. in Radio-TV-Cinema at Marmara University with a thesis titled “Cinema of Turkey during the Nineties.” Between 1997 and 2009, he worked with the Mesopotamia Cinema Collective and published numerous articles on cinema in various newspapers and journals. In 2003 and 2004, he coordinated the Diyarbakır Cinema Workshop, contributing to the development of independent film culture in the region.
As one of the founders of the Cegerxwin Art Conservatory, Cinema Academy, he lectured on different aspects of film studies and played an important role in cinema education. He also created the Filmamed Documentary Film Festival and Kısa Dalga (Short Wave) Film Days, both of which provided platforms for emerging filmmakers and documentary works.
In addition to his work in cinema, Özkan Küçük continues to serve as Project Coordinator at Diyarbakır Arts Center (DSM), where he engages in cultural and artistic projects. His filmography includes the fiction feature Rojbash (2024), the award-winning short film Pepûk (2013), and several documentaries such as Seyid – On the Path of Truth (2011), Rice with Chickpeas (2005), At the Rooftops of Diyarbekir... (2005), Master Arsen (2004), After Years, Here is DİYAR-ı BEKİR (2003), and Constructers (1999).
Through his films and cultural work, he continues to explore the intersections of cinema, society, and collective memory.
