Riyad Awad

Riyad Abdel-Karim Awad is an associate professor in structural engineering,

He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in the USA in 1989. He started his work in the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah National University in Palestine immediately after graduation from PSU. He worked as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, President Assistant for Planning and Development. He has more than twenty years of experience in construction projects analysis, design and structural evaluation. In the year 2015, He was on sabbatical leave working on a project in the stone and marble centre at Palestine Polytechnic University, supported by the stone and marble centre in Italy.

During the period March 2015 to March 2018, he served as the treasurer of The Engineers Association in Palestine and since 2010, he has been assigned the National Secretary of IAESTE Palestine. 

In March 2022, he was elected as the Mayor of Tulkarm city.
