Sam Michel

Sam Michel is a Director and Co-Founder of the BEYOND Conference. This unique event, now in its seventh year, brings together marketers, creatives, artists, researchers, entrepreneurs, corporates, and policymakers to explore research and innovation across the creative sector.

Under his direction, BEYOND has become a vital platform for fostering collaboration and innovation among diverse stakeholders. With a rich background in supporting fast-growing technical businesses, he co-founded Chinwag, where he played a pivotal role in helping over 300 companies expand their reach internationally.

Michel has led more than 20 trade delegations to key markets such as the US, Europe, and China. His leadership during six large-scale programs at the renowned SXSW festival showcased industry verticals and facilitated invaluable networking opportunities for participants.

His expertise spans various sectors, including immersive technology, fintech, ad tech, space/satellite data, and robotics. Sam has worked to help connect businesses with government trade support and innovation agencies.

In addition to his work with BEYOND and Chinwag, Michel was a key figure in growing Social Media Week London into a collaborative festival featuring 280 events that attracted 15,000 delegates. He also launched Chinwag Psych, the world’s first conference focused on behavioural economics for business.
