Selçuk Avcı
Co-founder, AVCI Architects
Selçuk Avcı is an architect and strategic consultant whose career bridges design practice, sustainability, and thought leadership. A graduate of Bath University, he has taught at renowned institutions including the Architectural Association (AA), The Bartlett School of Architecture, and Delft University of Technology.
His early career shaped his strong foundation in sustainable architecture through experience at pioneering firms such as Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Energy Conscious Design, and ARUP Associates. This commitment to environmentally responsible design continues to guide his work.
In 1988, Avcı founded Avcı Architects in London, which has since grown into an international practice with offices in Türkiye, Italy, Slovenia, and beyond. Under his leadership, the firm has built a reputation for innovative, context-sensitive, and sustainable projects across diverse geographies and scales.
Beyond architectural practice, Avcı co-founded URBANISTA, a consultancy that guides complex urban transformation projects, and The Circle, a collaborative platform for interdisciplinary dialogue in the built environment.
His work has received numerous accolades, including the RIBA Regional Award, the Civic Trust Award, and The Building Award in the UK, as well as LEED Platinum certification for a major project in Türkiye. Avcı Architects was also named among the UK’s Top 50 Young Practices, recognizing its forward-thinking approach to design and sustainability.
