Sena Karahan

Sena Karahan is an architect, researcher, and sound-art practitioner, and a member of Urban.koop, an urban studies cooperative based in Istanbul.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Urbanism program at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her doctoral research examines the intersections of sound, everyday life, and public space, focusing on the embodied experience of urban space and how sonic practices contribute to spatial knowledge production.
Alongside her academic work, she actively participates in collaborative initiatives and projects that explore spatial practices through transdisciplinary and collective approaches. She has presented her research at national and international academic conferences, workshops, and residency programs, contributing to discussions on urbanism, sound studies, and critical spatial practices.
Through both individual and collective efforts, her work seeks to bridge academic and everyday forms of knowledge, producing creative and critical methodologies for understanding and transforming urban space.
