Serim Berke Yarar
Co-Founder & Mechanical Engineer, Accessible Everything
Serim Berke Yarar graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yeditepe University. With a patented sifter machine he invented, he won first place in the “Bir Fikrim Mi Var” (Do I Have an Idea) competition in 2015.
In addition to his corporate identity, he continues to be active as a disability rights advocate and activist, taking part in numerous projects, talks, and workshops. One of the most notable of these is the “S² Yollarda” (S² on the Road) project, which he co-founded with Seben Ayşe Dayı, the other co-founder of Erişilebilir Her Şey (Everything Accessible). As part of this project, they hitchhiked across Türkiye with the aim of challenging society’s perceptions of disability and promoting a more inclusive view of differences. As a co-founder of Erişilebilir Her Şey, Yarar introduces institutions to the concept of accessibility and develops partnerships. He leads organizations’ physical and digital accessibility processes, creating solutions focused on special accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and universal design practices, while also contributing to the reporting of these processes.
In addition, he serves as a trainer in educational programs focused on cerebral palsy, disability awareness, and societal perceptions of disability.
