Att. Şeyma Döğücü graduated from Çorum İmam Hatip High School in 1987 and then from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law. She has been a founding member of various non-governmental organizations such as Mazlum-Der, Lawyers Association, Lawyer Ladies Association, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, Research and Culture Foundation and has been doing voluntary work in the field of human rights. With the foundation of the AK Party in 2002, she entered politics as a founding member of the Istanbul Provincial Women's Branch and served as Provincial Women's Branch Election Affairs Unit Head, Political Legal Affairs Unit Head, Local Governments Unit Head and Sancaktepe District Women's Branch Head. She was elected as Sancaktepe Municipal Councilor in the local elections held in 2009. Following her election as a member of the Board of Directors at the AK Party Provincial Congress held in 2012, she served as the Head of the Public Relations Department. In 2013-2014, she worked as Deputy Mayor of Sancaktepe Municipality. In the general elections held on June 7, 2015, the AK Party nominated her as the First Regional Deputy of Istanbul. In December 2015, she was appointed as the head of the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Women's Branch. In the general elections held on June 24, 2018, the AK Party nominated her as the First Regional Deputy of Istanbul. Şeyma Döğücü is married and has three children. She was elected as the Mayor of Sancaktepe in the March 31, 2019 Local Administrations Elections.
