Stefan Greiving

Stefan Greiving is a full professor of Regional Development and Risk Management at the Department of Spatial Planning of the TU Dortmund University, Germany. He holds a diploma in spatial planning and a PhD in Urban Planning.
He has been the coordinator and PI of more than 30 international and 80 national research projects on disaster risk assessment and management, adaptation to climate change and resilience of critical infrastructures. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers, edited 15 books and published more than 50 book chapters.
He has initiated a large number of international collaborations with partner institutions not only in other European countries but also in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Prof. Greiving is an appointed member of the Academic Sounding Board of the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission and the German Academy of Territorial Development. Moreover, he is a member of the Thematic Group “Resilience and Risks Mitigation Strategies” of the Association of European Planning Schools.
