Tuba Şehitoğlu
Architect, Yuva Project
Tuba Şehitoğlu completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University and carried out her thesis research at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences.
Between 2005 and 2016, she worked on hotel, residential, office, retail, and mixed-use projects in various countries. During this period, she served as design coordinator and project manager for large-scale projects such as the Baku Olympic Stadium and the Congo Kintele Congress Center. From 2017 to 2023, as a co-founder of Gigoffice, she led projects for luxury hotel and retail brands including Hermès, Marriott, Kempinski, Mandarin, and Swissôtel. Between 2020 and 2025, she taught studio courses at the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Medipol University.
Following the 2023 earthquakes, she co-founded the YUVA Project, which produced modular and ecological housing units to support local employment and provided shelter solutions, particularly for child development centers in Hatay. Today, YUVA continues its research and production in collaboration with local governments, NGOs, and universities, focusing on housing solutions for disaster-resilient cities. Şehitoğlu is currently continuing her career at Arup Engineering.
