Ünal Karamuk

Ünal Karamuk is a co-founding partner of Karamuk Kuo based in Zurich. 

He studied at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zurich (ETH Zurich) and at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. From 2009 to 2012, he taught at the ETH Zurich with Prof. Christian Kerez, and in 202,3 he was the Cullinan Visiting Professor at Rice University.

Established in 2010 with Jeannette Kuo, the work of Karamuk Kuo has focused on the intersection of spatial concepts with constructive technologies to approach architecture from its most fundamental sources. The office works on projects of a range of scales, from multi-family housing to complex cultural projects and has been published in numerous international journals including Architese, Werk, Bau + Wohnen, Domus, Casabella, and Architectural Review. In 2018, they were featured in a monograph by El Croquis.
