Vural Tarlan

Vural Tarlan is a researcher and social documentary photographer. His research focuses on visual sociology and anthropology, and he has been studying Dom and Abdal (Roma) communities in the Middle East since 2000.
His studies, articles, and photos have been featured in numerous international symposia, congresses, exhibitions, and other events. He has written articles. The articles are on the rights of refugees from the Middle East. He has also worked as an activist. He worked on "Syria in Transit." from 2013 to 2016. It was an exhibition of photography, videos, sounds, and objects. It focused on Syrian refugees. The subjects were from the Turkish border to the EU. The exhibition traveled to different cities in Europe, including London, Berlin, Kiel, Madrid, Frankfurt, Istanbul, and Gaziantep. He was a visiting lecturer at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Communication from 2014 to 2021.
He lives in Gaziantep and is the General Coordinator of Kırkayak Kultur and the Head of the Center for Migration and Cultural Studies for the Middle East. Since the year 2000, his research has focused on the cultural and anthropological aspects of the Gypsy Dom communities residing in the Middle East.
Since 2011, his research has focused on Syrian refugees, immigration theories, and social harmony. His research articles have been published in various journals, magazines, and newspapers.
