Yaşar Adnan Adanalı
Founding Director, Postane
Yaşar Adnan Adanalı is an urbanism expert and social entrepreneur. He is among the co-founders of the Center for Spatial Justice (Mekanda Adalet Derneği) and served as its director for many years. He is also the founding director of Postane, a space dedicated to co-production with a focus on social and environmental impact.
Between 2010 and 2021, he taught courses on participatory planning and community-based housing at Darmstadt Technical University. He was part of the volunteer design team for Umut Evleri (Houses of Hope), Türkiye's first mass housing project implemented through participatory planning. In 2019, Adanalı was selected as a global fellow by the Bertha Foundation with the theme of “Housing Justice.” Under the name “Urbanist,” he produces content on spatial justice, urban memory, and cultural heritage.
