Yasemin Akis Kalaylıoğlu

Yasemin Akis Kalaylıoğlu completed her undergraduate studies in Sociology at Ege University. She pursued a master’s degree in Gender and Women’s Studies at Middle East Technical University (METU), followed by a PhD in Sociology at the same institution.
During her postgraduate studies, she worked as a senior researcher in various national and international academic projects in Belgium, Germany, and Sweden. Her doctoral dissertation focused on international migration and gender inequalities. To further her research, she was accepted as a visiting scholar at Stockholm University, the University of Oxford, and the University of California, Berkeley.
Following the completion of her PhD, she worked as a senior expert for several national and international organizations. In 2020, she joined the Council of Europe as a project manager. Since 2021, she has been serving as the Gender Programme Coordinator at UNFPA.
