Zeynep Aslı Gürel

Zeynep Aslı Gürel is a faculty member in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Gazi University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Gazi University, a master’s degree in Urban Policy Planning and Local Governments from Middle East Technical University, and a PhD in City and Regional Planning from Gazi University.
Her primary research interests include urban planning, urban policies, local governments, and urban quality of life. She has published articles and book chapters on these topics in national and international journals and edited volumes. Gürel also serves as a researcher on TÜBİTAK-funded projects focusing on housing, urban health, and climate change.
Since 2018, she has been a member of the Board of Trustees and the Thesis Awards Committee of the İlhan Tekeli Urbanism Culture Foundation, a prominent institution in the field of urbanism.
