Zinnur Büyükgöz

Zinnur Büyükgöz graduated from Yıldız Technical University's Faculty of Architecture in 1987 with a degree in Urban and Regional Planner. Between 1987 and 1989, he completed his master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the same university. He has been serving as an Urban Planner for 33 years.

He served as Darıca Town Mayor and a member of the Gebze Executive Board for the Refah Party, and as a member of the Kocaeli Provincial Executive Board for Fazilet Party. Between 2004 and 2009, he served as Deputy Technical Mayor and a member of the Gebze Municipality Municipal Council, as a member of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Council, and as a member of the Zoning Commission. In addition to holding political positions in Gebze and Kocaeli, he has been active in civil society organizations and various other platforms. Since 2004, he has served on the Istanbul Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board and the Bursa and Kocaeli Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board. He has striven to contribute to the administration of justice as an expert in Administrative Courts across Türkiye. Between 2014 and 2016, he served as a member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce's Project Advisory Board. Since 2014, he has served on the Project Advisory Board of the Teknopark Istanbul Technology Zone. As of 2019, he resigned from his position as a member of the Cultural Heritage Protection Regional Board.

He was elected Mayor of Gebze in the March 31, 2019, Local Elections and continues to serve in this position.
