Ziya Doruk
Co-Founder, Strade Sustainable Solutions and Consulting
Ziya Doruk began his professional career in the construction industry after completing his studies, which he started at Gazi University, in 2001.
In 2008, he graduated from the Interior Architecture Department of Haliç University and transitioned into management roles in the retail ready-to-wear sector. He currently serves as Director of Architectural Operations. His passion for continuous learning and self-development was demonstrated in 2017 when he successfully completed the Building Leaders, Leading Future program at Koç University. In 2020, he earned his master’s degree in Lighting from Haliç University, further strengthening his expertise in the field. In 2021, his entrepreneurial spirit took on a new dimension when he became a founding member of the Association for Natural Building Materials and Methods. As a founding and board member, he has played a leading role in advancing sustainable construction practices and innovative building materials.
Doruk also conducts academic research on lighting and energy efficiency. Since 2020, he has been leading a multidisciplinary project initiated under TÜBİTAK titled “Human-Centric Lighting and Its Effects in Retail Stores.” This ongoing project represents a significant effort to explore the relationship between lighting, human health, and comfort. In addition, he is a member of the Turkish National Committee on Illumination.
