Ziya Taşkent

Ziya Taşkent is the Secretary General of the Istanbul Development Agency and an Advisor to the Minister. 

Prior to this role, he served for seven years at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, holding positions as Director General of Copyrights and Deputy Undersecretary. Previously, he worked for thirteen years at Turkish Airlines, where he served as Head of Marketing and Sales. Representing the institutions he served, he held Board Member positions at the UNESCO National Commission of Türkiye and the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Business Councils. He has also taught marketing courses at the university level and has professional experience in the publishing, film, advertising, and automotive sectors.

Taşkent completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and earned a PhD in Business Administration (Marketing) from Maltepe University.
