Fungistanbul
Music Project with Instruments from Waste Material
The Fungistanbul music group originated in Istanbul and debuted their first album, "Phenology," in 2014.
Their latest project, which began with the release of a music video called "Trash Oriental / Çer Çöp Havası" in 2019, showcases musical performances featuring instruments made from recycled waste materials, as well as exhibitions of stage costumes made from waste and documentaries.
The group also hosts workshops and discussions for both children and adults, centered around instrument and music-making from waste.
The group's new album, "Trash Oriental / Çer Çöp Havası," released in early 2022, features tracks interpreted with instruments made from waste materials, once again highlighting their commitment to environmental advocacy.
The Fungistanbul is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions in the production, consumption, and transformation of waste, with the ultimate goal of creating a nature-friendly future. They welcome your involvement in their mission. Members:
• Roni Aran (cansaz, potsaz)
• Serhat Ayebe (tarbasin, potbass)
• Herman Artuç (pipebongo, candrums, bottle whistle)
