Head of Deparment of Project Implementation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate For EU Affairs
He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics in 1988. The same year, he began working as an Assistant Economist Specialist at the Development Bank of Turkey. His research on "Turkey and Black Sea Economic Cooperation Problems within the Framework of International Economic Cooperation Analysis" earned him the title of specialist in 1993.
He was employed at the same institution until 2011. During his tenure, he conducted research on investment project evaluation and lending, prepared feasibility reports, conducted sector and market research, researched suitable investment areas in regions, and prepared strategic development plans. Additionally, he authored research reports on modern development banking, emerging market economies, deposit insurance, SMEs, and free zones.
He began his tenure at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs in 2011, serving as a European Union Affairs Specialist until 2019. He then assumed the role of Specialist-Coordinator. In March 2019, he was appointed as the Head of Project Implementation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate for EU Affairs, where he currently serves in the same capacity.
Within the scope of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), the Project Implementation Department is responsible for managing relationships with the European Union, public institutions, and NGOs. The department leads programming and monitoring processes and coordinates the projects under the civil society sub-sector, supporting their implementation. Additionally, the department manages the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, which is funded by the European Union. Developing programmes and projects that align with the support and ownership of the EU process at the local level also falls under the department's responsibility.
